Using Omicron
Connected applications
Sign in to another service with your Omicron identity, review consent, and revoke access.
Services that support Omicron’s identity OAuth flow can ask you to verify your identity using your existing account. This does not give them an Omicron session or permission to publish on your behalf.
Sign in to another service
- Start sign-in on the other service and select your Omicron instance or handle.
- Your browser opens your instance’s Sign in with Omicron page. If you are signed out, sign in normally; Omicron returns you to the consent page rather than approving the application automatically.
- Check the account shown and the Return to destination. Application names are supplied by developers and are not verified. Trust the destination, not just a familiar-looking name.
- Choose Allow identity verification to continue, or Deny to return without issuing an access token.
An approval shares only your account ID, username, display name, and public profile and ActivityPub URLs. It does not share your login email, password, private data, posts, or administrative permissions.
The identity token expires after one hour. The other service may keep its own sign-in session after that; token expiry does not sign you out of that service.
Review and revoke access
- Open Settings → Integrations → Connected applications.
- Find the application by its name and callback origin. Each row represents a still-valid identity token and shows when it expires.
- Choose Revoke to invalidate that token immediately.
Revocation stops future identity verification with that token. It does not delete the account or session the other service has already created, erase identity information it previously received, or revoke another token issued by a separate approval. Sign out or remove your account on the other service if you also want to end its session or remove its stored information.
Expired tokens disappear from the list. Publishing tokens are a separate integration with different permissions; see Content webhook.
