Lists and read later

Lists are how you keep a post without following its author, and how you curate collections others can read.

Read later

Every post has a save control that drops it into your built-in Read later list at /lists/read-later. It is always private, always yours, and needs no setup.

Custom lists

Create named lists at /lists. Each list has:

• a name and optional description,
• an ordered set of posts,
• a visibility setting.

Add a post from the post itself — the control shows which of your lists already contain it — or manage membership from the list page.

Public lists

A public list appears on your profile’s Lists tab and has its own shareable URL, so a list is a lightweight way to publish a reading guide without writing a post about it.

Private lists are visible only to you.

Lists and remote posts

A list can hold federated posts as well as local ones. The list stores a reference; if the remote post is deleted upstream, the entry stops resolving.

Deleting a list never deletes the posts in it — a list is a set of references.
